Set up multifactor authentication

Multifactor authentication (MFA) is a security process where you provide more than one authentication factor to verify your identity.

Multifactor authentication (MFA) helps keep your account secure. When you add or edit a new bill payee or Interac e-Transfer contact, Servus will text a code to your phone that you must enter to verify it's you making these changes to your account. Our member contact centre can also use MFA to verify your identity when you call us for help with your banking.

Here's how to set up multifactor authentication on your account:

Verify your mobile phone number

The first time you sign in to mobile or online banking, you'll need to verify your mobile phone number to continue with your banking session.

If the phone number displayed is correct

  1. Sign in to mobile or online banking.

  2. If the phone number displayed is correct, select Continue.

  3. A verification code will be sent by text to your mobile phone.

  4. Enter the code in Verification Code and select Continue.

  5. Success! Your phone number has been verified. Continue with your banking session.

If the phone number displayed is not correct

  1. Sign in to mobile or online banking.

  2. If the phone number displayed is not correct, select Update.

  3. Use the Verification Code dropdown menu to choose whether you want to receive your code by email or SMS (text).

    Note: Choose email if you do not have access to the phone number listed in Step 2.

  4. Enter the code in Verification Code and select Continue.

  5. Enter your new mobile number and select Continue.

  6. A verification code will be sent by text to your mobile phone.

  7. Enter the code in Verification Code and select Continue.

  8. Success! Your phone number has been verified. Continue with your banking session.

If no phone number is displayed

  1. Sign in to mobile or online banking.

  2. Enter your mobile phone number and select Continue.

  3. A verification code will be sent by text to your mobile phone.

  4. Enter the code in Verification Code and select Continue.

  5. Success! Your phone number has been verified. Continue with your banking session.
