Adding Limits (Commercial)

Enhance permission groups with dollar value and transaction count limits to manage spending thresholds and control how many transactions users can initiate within a given time period.

This feature is available to administrators only. A permission group must exist before limits can be added.

Before you begin:

  • A permission group must already exist before limits can be added to it.
  • Limits apply to all users within a permission group — every user shares the same limit values.

Here’s how to add limits to a permission group:

  1. Select Business > Administration, open the contract details, and select the pencil icon on Permission Group Rules.
  2. Select the edit group icon for the applicable permission group.
  3. Within the permission rule, select Create a new limit.
  4. Select the limit type: Amount to set a maximum dollar value, or Number of Executed Transactions to set a count limit.
  5. Select the Periodicity (frequency): daily, weekly, or monthly.
  6. Enter the limit value (e.g., $5,000 per week, or 4 transactions per week).
  7. Select Save to apply. The limit now applies to all users in the permission group.

About limit types:

Dollar value limits cap the maximum amount per transaction or combined total within a period. Transaction count limits cap the number of transactions of a given type within a period. Time periods reset on a calendar schedule — for example, the first day of the week or the first of the month.
