Adding limits (Commercial)

Enhance permission groups with dollar value and transaction count limits to manage spending thresholds and control how many transactions users can initiate within a given time period.

This feature is available to administrators only. You will only see the Administration menu item if you have been designated as an administrator on your contract.

Before you begin:

  • A permission group must already exist before limits can be added to it.
  • Limits apply to all users within a permission group. Every user shares the same limit values.

Here's how to add limits to a permission group:

  1. Select Administration from the main menu.
  2. Select the View Details arrow to expand your contract details.
  3. Select the pencil icon next to the permission group you want to add limits to.
  4. Select Create new limit.
  5. Choose the limit type. Select Amount for a dollar value limit, or Number of Transactions for a count limit.
  6. Select the transaction type, set the value, and choose a time period. For example, $5,000 per week.
  7. Select Save. The limit now applies to all users in the permission group.

About limit types

Dollar value limits cap the maximum amount per transaction or combined total within a period. Transaction count limits cap the number of transactions of a given type within a period. Time periods reset on a calendar schedule.
